All of our Concrete Garages are recommended to be erected on a permanent concrete base which is 4 inches thick.
Your garage base must be flat, level and square and be large enough for the garage you have ordered.
In order to ensure that your base is square, measure out a 3-4-5 triangle before securing the shuttering prior to concreting.
To check that the base is square, measure the diagonals of the base. Both measurements should be the same.
It is essential that the bottom of the concrete panels are sealed off with a fillet of concrete all round the inside (not outside) of the garage to prevent the ingress of water. It is recommended that the fillet mix is 3 parts river sand and 1 part cement with PVA added to the mix.
Allowances must be made for the overhang of the roof and fascias when adjacent to boundary walls and existing buildings. The side roof clearance on the Dashmaster is 3 inches and on the Apex it is 6 inches ( not including the guttering). The front and rear overhang on both of these is 6 inches.
